Read:
Jesus includes forgiveness in the rhythm of daily prayer because we constantly need grace. We distance ourselves from God when we keep things in the dark. And holding on to all that guilt is like dragging chains through your day. The weight slows you down, even when you think you’ve gotten used to it. Bringing your mistakes into the light opens the door for healing.
Forgiveness isn’t something you earn—and it certainly doesn’t come from replaying mistakes or lingering in regret. Forgiveness comes when you invite God to restore what’s been broken. He already knows where you’ve fallen short, but when you confess and lay it down before him, he releases you from the weight. God’s grace meets you where you are, and you don’t have to keep carrying what doesn’t belong to you.
Reflect: What have you been carrying that God has already forgiven?
Pray: God, search me and show me what I’ve been hiding. I bring it to you honestly. Wash me clean and remind me that I am forgiven, not because of what I’ve done, but because of who you are. Amen.
