Jesus doesn’t teach you to pray for escape. He teaches you to pray for God’s kingdom to break in here and now. When you say, “Your kingdom come,” you’re asking for your world to reflect his rule and his priorities.
The kingdom of God isn’t distant. Jesus says it is already here. It shows up wherever God’s authority is welcomed, in everyday moments when you forgive, serve, choose mercy, or act with courage. This prayer isn’t only about the world around you. It’s about the world within you. It’s a way of saying, “God, start with me. Shape how I think, speak, decide, and love.”
Reflect: Where in your life do you need to make room for God’s rule?
Pray: God, build your kingdom in my heart, my habits, and my relationships. I don’t want to just talk about your kingdom; I want to live under your rule. Show me where I’m clinging to control and teach me to trust you. Use my obedience to reflect your kingdom today. Amen.
